The Use of Neck Sonography in Identifying Cervical Lymph Node: A Single Center Study from 2019 to 2020

Background: Tumor metastasis, as one of the most important prognostic factors in solid tumors, affects survival remarkably. Cervical lymphadenopathy (LAP) reflects an advanced-stage disease and changes tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging tumor, resulting a multidisciplinary approach to management cancer. Objectives: This study aimed assess importance neck sonography monitoring primary tumors. Methods: Records 166 patients with distant cancers who underwent from February 2019 2020 were studied. Abnormal lymph nodes reported, then fine needle aspiration (FNA) or core biopsy (CNB) under direct US guidance. Thirty-two confirmed for malignant cervical LAP node easy safe way provide tissue diagnosis instead providing source tumor. Results: Malignant was 32 (19.2%) by sonography. Seventy-seven (46.4%) male 89 (53.6%) female. The 22 88 years old (mean age = 57.7 years; standard deviation 12.7). had pathological 134 (80.8%) did not have. Conclusions: Metastatic found ultrasound will change pretreatment TNM optimal treatment on case-by-case basis. According result this study, routine tumors is recommended.
